The Emperor Wears No Clothes

By: Jack Herer

This is the book that started the hemp revolution. More than 600,000 copies have been sold to date. The print version of The Emperor Wears No Clothes is available in Jack's Hemporium.

Jack wants this information to be available to everyone, so he has published the text of the book here on the internet for free. This is only half of what is actually in the book. If you want all the source material and graphics, please buy a copy of the book.

Overview of the History of Cannabis Hemp. The facts cited herein are generally verifiable in the Encyclopedia Britannica, which was printed primarily on paper produced with cannabis hemp for over 150 years. However, any encyclopedia (no matter how old) or good dictionary will do for general verification purposes.

Cannabis Sativa L.

Also known as: Hemp, cannabis hemp, Indian (India) hemp, true hemp, muggles, weed, pot, spinach, marijuana, reefer, grass, ganja, bhang, the kind, dagga, herb, etc., all names for exactly the same plant!

What’s in a Name?
(U.S. Geography)

HEMPstead, Long Island; HEMPstead County, Arkansas; HEMPstead, Texas; HEMPhill, North Carolina, HEMPfield, Pennsylvania, among others, were named after cannabis growing regions, or after family names derived from hemp growing.

American Historical Notes
In 1619, America's first marijuana law was enacted at Jamestown Colony, Virginia, "ordering" all farmers to "make tryal of" (grow) Indian hempseed.

More mandatory (must-grow) hemp cultivation laws were enacted in Massachusetts in 1631, in Connecticut in 1632 and in the Chesapeake Colonies into the mid-1700s. Even in England, the much-sought-after prize of full British citizenship was bestowed by a decree of the crown on foreigners who would grow cannabis, and fines were often levied against those who refused.

Designing The Future!

By: Jacque Fresco

A Future by Design

Are you prepared to design the future?

Although many of us feel we can prepare for our future by thinking, acting, and learning using present methods and values, nothing is farther from the truth - especially in today's rapidly changing world.

A newborn child enters a world not of his or her own making. Each succeeding generation inherits the values, accomplishments, hopes, successes, and failings of previous generations. And they inherit the results of the decisions made by those generations...

The Coming Era of Nanotechnology

By: Eric Drexler

Engines Of Construction
(Chapter 1)

Protein engineering represents the first major step toward a more general capability for molecular engineering which would allow us to structure matter atom by atom. Kevin Ulmer Director of Exploratory Research Genex Corporation.

COAL AND DIAMONDS, sand and computer chips, cancer and healthy tissue: throughout history, variations in the arrangement of atoms have distinguished the cheap from the cherished, the diseased from the healthy.

Arranged one way, atoms make up soil, air, and water; arranged another, they make up ripe strawberries. Arranged one way, they make up homes and fresh air; arranged another, they make up ash and smoke.

Our ability to arrange atoms lies at the foundation of technology. We have come far in our atom arranging, from chipping flint for arrowheads to machining aluminum for spaceships. We take pride in our technology, with our lifesaving drugs and desktop computers.

Yet our spacecraft are still crude, our computers are still stupid, and the molecules in our tissues still slide into disorder, first destroying health, then life itself.

For all our advances in arranging atoms, we still use primitive methods. With our present technology, we are still forced to handle atoms in unruly herds.

Politics of Hemp

How it can save America:
The Marijuana Conspiracy -

The reason hemp is illegal...

They say marijuana is dangerous. Pot is not harmful to the human body or mind. Marijuana does not pose a threat to the general public.

Marijuana is very much a danger to the oil companies, alcohol, tobacco industries and a large number of chemical corporations.

Big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed the truth from the people.

The truth is, if marijuana was utilized for its vast array of commercial products, it would create an industrial atomic bomb! The super rich have conspired to spread misinformation about the plant that, if used properly, would ruin their companies.

Where did the word "Marijuana" come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant – as you will read. The facts cited here, with references, are generally verifiable in the Encyclopedia Britannica which was printed on hemp paper for 150 years:

✔All schoolbooks were made from hemp or flax paper until the 1880s. (Jack Frazier. Hemp Paper Reconsidered. 1974.)
✔ It was legal to pay taxes with hemp in America from 1631 until the early 1800s. (LA Times. Aug. 12, 1981.)
✔ Refusing to grow hemp in America during the 17th and 18th centuries was against the law! You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to 1769 (G. M. Herdon. Hemp in Colonial Virginia).
✔ George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers grew hemp. (Washington and Jefferson Diaries. Jefferson smuggled hemp seeds from China to France then to America.)
✔ Benjamin Franklin owned one of the first paper mills in America, and it processed hemp. Also, the War of 1812 was fought over hemp. Napoleon wanted to cut off Moscow‘s export to England. (Jack Herer. Emperor Wears No Clothes.)
✔ For thousands of years, 90% of all ships‘ sails and rope were made from hemp. The word ‗canvas‘ is Dutch for cannabis. (Webster‟s New World Dictionary.)
✔ 80% of all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc.,were made from hemp until the 1820s, with the introduction of the cotton gin.

Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth!

By: Richard Buckminster Fuller 1969

1. Comprehensive Propensities

I am enthusiastic over humanity's extraordinary and sometimes very timely ingenuities. If you are in a shipwreck and all the boats are gone, a piano top buoyant enough to keep you afloat that comes along makes a fortuitous life preserver. But this is not to say that the best way to design a life preserver is in the form of a piano top.

I think that we are clinging to a great many piano tops in accepting yesterday's fortuitous contriving as constituting the only means for solving a given problem. Our brains deal exclusively with special-case experiences. Only our minds are able to discover the generalized principles operating without exception in each and every special-experience case which if detected and mastered will give knowledgeable advantage in all instances....

Looking Forward!

By: Jacque Fresco & Kenneth S. Keyes, Jr. 1969

Dedicated to the youth of the world who must meet the challenge of the twenty-first century.

Part 1 Things That Shape Our Future

1. The Leap from the Jungle

The lives of most men and women are blighted by problems they cannot solve. And people usually blame themselves, or they blame "fate" whatever that is. However, when two cars collide at an intersection, should we, as students of society, concentrate our attention on the individual blame of the drivers, on "fate" or on the way transportation is engineered so that it permits collisions?

If you believe that cars and roads should be designed so that it is almost impossible for people to lose their lives through collisions, this book is for you.

If you believe that the mind is capable of gradually applying the method of patient, scientific investigation to find out how to rearrange the structure of our society to give each individual a greater opportunity for self-realization and happiness while he is on earth, we welcome and need your help.

If you believe it's about time for the human race to stop spinning its wheels, then let's get going...

Vegetable Gardening Encyclopedia

Growing - Freezing - Canning - Drying - Storing Any gardener will tell you that gardening is one of the most absorbing and rewarding occupations you can undertake.

Any gardener will also tell you probably loudly and at length that gardening requires patience, resilience, hard work, and a lot of planning. Paperwork is probably the last thing you have in mind when you think about growing your own vegetables. More likely you see yourself leaning contently on your spade as all sorts of lush, healthy plants shoot up in front of your eyes.

The fact of the matter, though, is that gardening begins not with seeds and a spade but with paper and a pencil.

A successful vegetable garden begins with a well organized plan of your garden space. Drawing a plan may not sound as exciting as getting outdoors and planting things.

But if you don't spend the necessary time planning what to grow in your garden and when and where to plant it, you may spend the rest of the growing season correcting the mistakes you made because you didn't have a plan.

It's a lot easier to erase a bed when it's a few lines on a piece of paper than when it's an expanse of soil and plants.

The Truth About The Income Tax
The Truth about the Income Tax or The IRS Fraud Exposed

By: Thomas Freed

The Constitution of the United States of America, the Supreme Law of the Land, establishes a limited federal government in America.

LIMITED MEANS RESTRICTED BY SUPREME LAW !

That means that if something is not explicitly authorized in the Constitution, then the Federal government is prohibited from engaging in that activity. And the government is, of course, supposed to be also prohibited from doing anything that the Constitution explicitly forbids it from doing!

THE CONSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR TAXATION

Now, the Constitution, of course, authorizes the federal government to lay and collect taxes in order to ensure the operation and solvency of the government and the nation.

However, because the founding fathers truly did understand that the power to tax is indeed the power to destroy, it does so very specifically and carefully in order to ensure that the taxing authority would never become the same tyrant (the King of England and his hoard of tax collectors) that the Constitution was created in order to permanently vanquish.

Beyond Politics, Poverty, & War

By: Jacque Fresco

Sample Chapters:

FEW TECHNOLOGICAL ACHIEVEMENTS are as impressive as the ability to see our own planet from outer space. The beautiful sphere suspended against the black void of space makes plain the bond that the billions of us on Earth have in common.

This global consciousness inspires space travelers who then provide emotional and spiritual observations. Their views from outer space awaken them to a grand realization that all who share our planet make up a single community. They think this viewpoint will help unite the nations of the world in order to build a peaceful future for the present generation and the ones that follow. Many poets, philosophers, and writers have criticized the artificial borders that separate people preoccupied with the notion of nationhood.

Despite the visions and hopes of astronauts, poets, writers, and visionaries, the reality is that nations are continuously at war with one another, and poverty and hunger prevail in many places throughout the world, including the United States.

Grunch of Giants!

By: R. Buckminster Fuller

There exists a realizable, evolutionary alternative to our being either atom-bombed into extinction or crowding ourselves off the planet.

The alternative is the computer-persuadable veering of big business from its weaponry fixation to accommodation of all humanity at an aerospace level of technology, with the vastly larger, far more enduringly profitable for all, entirely new World Livingry Service Industry.

It is statistically evident that the more advanced the living standard, the lower the birth rate.

It is essential that anyone reading this book know at the outset that the author is apolitical. I was convinced in 1927 that humanity's most fundamental survival problems could never be solved by politics...

Edible and Medicinal Plants

Abal Calligonum comosum

Description: The abal is one of the few shrubby plants that exists in the shady deserts. This plant grows to about 1.2 meters, and its branches look like wisps from a broom. The stiff, green branches produce an abundance of flowers in the early spring months (March, April).

Habitat and Distribution: This plant is found in desert scrub and waste in any climatic zone. It inhabits much of the North African desert. It may also be found on the desert sands of the Middle East and as far eastward as the Rajputana desert of western India.

Edible Parts: This plant's general appearance would not indicate its usefulness to the survivor, but while this plant is flowering in the spring, its fresh flowers can be eaten.

This plant is common in the areas where it is found. An analysis of the food value of this plant has shown it to be high in sugar and nitrogenous components.

Handbook of Herbs and Spices

Edited By: K. V. Peter

Introduction
K. V. Peter, Kerala Agricultural University
(formerly at Indian Institute of Spices Research)

1.1 Definitions
The Geneva-based International Standards Organization (ISO) defines spices and condiments as: Vegetable products or mixtures thereof, free from extraneous matter, used for flavoring, seasoning and imparting aroma in foods.

Webster describes spices as: Any of various aromatic vegetable productions as pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, allspice, ginger, cloves, etc., used in cookery to season and to flavor sauces, pickles, etc.; a vegetable condiment or relish, usually in the form of a powder; also, as condiments collectively.

The famous spice author Rosengarten describes a spice as a product which enriches or alters the quality of a thing, for example altering the taste of a food to give it zest or pungency; a piquant or lasting flavoring; or a relish. The term ‘spice’ is thus used to cover the use of spices, herbs and certain aromatic vegetables to impart odor and flavor to foods.

All About Hemp

1.1 ~ Introduction

The fiber of Cannabis, the "True Hemp", is tightly woven into the tapestry of human life. Since earliest times, this great plant ally has provided people with cordage, cloth, paper, medicine, and inspiration. For all the many benefits it bestows, Cannabis hemp is a friendship well worth cultivating.

Hemp is many things to many people, and it is known by hundreds of names. Poets sing its praises, and preachers damn it. Executioners hang condemned men with hemp rope, but sailors and mountaineers hang onto it for dear life. Doctors prescribe it as a medicine, yet prohibitionists proscribe it as a poison.

Armies and navies make war with hemp, while lovers use it as an aphrodisiac. The resinous virtue generates real happiness, enlightenment and entertainment, equal in quality and worth to the similar joys of love, freedom, and good health --- and it complements them all, and it comforts those poor souls who are without such blessings.

Hemp is a most interesting and paradoxical plant, one that defies control and begs understanding. Hemp is one of mankind's best (and few) friends on Earth, yet it is a prisoner within its own cells, bound in a Gordian Knot of laws. Yet again, hemp is Ariadne's Thread, a guideline out of the labyrinth of bureaucratic tyranny and into a new state of liberty and grace.

Rules of The Game
Chapter 1

“Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.” ~James Madison

All games have rules. That is no less true of taxation. But taxation in America is an odd game in that it has two different sets of rules.

The first set of rules is called “the law.” as far as taxation is concerned, the law consists of the Constitution of the United States, the statutes created in pursuance thereof, and the regulations promulgated behind the statutes.

The second set of rules we shall call, “How things work on the street.” In other words, what actually happens on Main Street – on your street – in America.

The problem we face as Americans is that these two sets of rules are in conflict. The law says one thing (quite clearly in most cases), while something entirely different is being done on the streets of America.

Economic Hit Men, Jackals, and The Truth About Global Corruption
THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE
ECONOMIC HIT MEN, JACKALS, AND THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL CORRUPTION
BY: JOHN PERKINS
Acknowledgments

This book would have been impossible without the courageous men and women who stepped forward from the ranks of economic hit men and jackals to share their stories; in doing so they took personal risks and were forced to confront the darkest aspects of their lives. I owe them my deepest gratitude.

It could not have been written without the people who envisioned and manage the NGOs that are changing corporatocracy policies; they, their staffs, and volunteers light a path for the rest of us to follow.

Some play a prominent role in the pages of this book, but many remain anonymous—as do those who donate their money to these important organizations. I thank all of them. And also the people around this planet who stand up to the corporatocracy, the few whose names make the news and the many who walk the picket lines, hang banners, speak out, send emails, run for office, vote for positive change, and shop consciously.

They are the true heroes of the history that is being written today.

Empire: nation-state that dominates other nation-states and exhibits one or more of the following characteristics:
i) exploits resources from the lands it dominates,

2) consumes large quantities of resources—amounts that are disproportionate to the size of its population relative to those of other nations,

3) maintains a large military that enforces its policies when more subtle measures fail,

4) spreads its language, literature, art, and various aspects of its culture throughout its sphere of influence,

5) taxes not just its own citizens, but also people in other countries, and

6) imposes its own currency on the lands under its control.

This definition of "Empire" was formulated in meetings I held with students at a number of universities during my book tour in 2005 and 2006. Almost without exception, the students arrived at the following conclusion:

The United States exhibits all the characteristics of a global empire.

Addressing each of the above points: Points 1 and 2.

The United States represents less than 5 percent of the world's population; it consumes more than 25 percent of the world's resources.

This is accomplished to a large degree through the exploitation of other countries, primarily in the developing world.

Point 3. The United States maintains the largest and most sophisticated military in the world. Although this empire has been built primarily through economics

—by EHMs—

world leaders understand that whenever other measures fail, the military will step in, as it did in Iraq.

Science and
Human Behavior

BY: B.F. Skinner

SECTION I

THE POSSIBILITY OF A SCIENCE OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR

Chapter 1

CAN SCIENCE HELP?
THE MISUSE OF SCIENCE

By the middle of the seventeenth century it had come to be understood that the world was enclosed in a sea of air, much as the greater part of it was covered by water.

A scientist of the period, Francesco Lana, contended that a lighter-than-air ship could float upon this sea, and he suggested how such a ship might be built. He was unable to put his invention to a practical test, but he saw only one reason why it might not work: . . . that God will never suffer this Invention to take effect, because of the many consequences which may disturb the Civil Government of men. For who sees not, that no City can be secure against attack, since our Ship may at any time be placed directly over it, and descending down may discharge Soldiers;

the same would happen to private Houses, and Ships on the Sea:

for our Ship descending out of the Air to the sails of Sea-Ships, it may cut their Ropes, yea without descending by casting Grapples it may over-set them, kill their men, burn their Ships by artificial Fire works and Fire-balls. And this they may do not only to Ships but to great Buildings, Castles, Cities, with such security that they which cast these things down from a height out of Gun-shot, cannot on the other side be offended by those below.

Lana's reservation was groundless. He had predicted modern air warfare in surprisingly accurate detail—with its paratroopers and its strafing and bombing. Contrary to his expectation, God has suffered his invention to take effect. And so has Man.

The story emphasizes the irresponsibility with which science and the products of science have been used. Man's power appears to have increased out of all proportion to his wisdom. He has never been in a better position to build a healthy, happy, and productive world; yet things have perhaps never seemed so black.

Two exhausting world wars in a single half century have given no assurance of a lasting peace. Dreams of progress toward a higher civilization have been shattered by the spectacle of the murder of millions of innocent people.

The worst may be still to come. Scientists may not set off a chain reaction to blow the world into eternity, but some of the more plausible prospects are scarcely less disconcerting.

The Divine Cosmos

BY: David Wilcock

PROLOGUE:

THE MYSTERY IS REVEALED!

On September 11, 2001, the Earth was rocked by a meticulously planned strike at the financial and military heart of the world’s last superpower, as ordinary passenger airliners turned into weapons of mass destruction, reducing the twin towers of the World Trade Center to a pile of rubble and exploding one wing of the Pentagon.

Prior to this event it was quite common for the general public to proclaim that everything was “normal” and ignore many obvious signposts that humanity, the Earth and solar system at large were all undergoing tremendous, unprecedented change, which includes the following ever-increasing trends:

• A 410-percent increase in the overall number of natural catastrophes on Earth between 1963 and 1993 (Dmitriev 1997)
• A 400-percent increase in the number of quakes on Earth (over 2.5 on the Richter scale) since 1973 (Mandeville 1998)
• A 500-percent increase in Earth’s volcanic activity between 1875 and 1993 (Mandeville 2000)
• 9 out of the 21 most severe earthquakes from 856-1999 AD occurred in the 20th century (Russian National Earthquake Information Center, 1999)
• A 230-percent increase in the strength of the Sun’s magnetic field since 1901 (Lockwood, 1998)
• A 300-percent increase in the amount of “severe” solar activity than what was formally predicted for the year 1997 alone (NASA 1998)
• 400-percent or higher increases in the speed that solar particle emissions are capable of traveling through the energy of interplanetary space (NASA 1997-2001)

• Recent magnetic pole shifts of Uranus and Neptune, as Voyager 2 observed their magnetic axes being significantly offset from their rotational axes (Dmitriev 1997)
• Visible brightness increases now being detected on Saturn (Dmitriev 1997)
• 200-percent increase in the intensity of Jupiter’s magnetic field from 1992 -97 (Dmitriev 1997)
• 200-percent increase in the known density of Mars’ atmosphere encountered by the Mars Surveyor satellite in 1997 (NASA 1997)
• Significant melting of Martian polar icecaps in just one year, clearly seen in satellite photography (NASA 2001)
• Significant physical, chemical and optical changes on Venus, including a sharp decrease in sulfur-containing gases in its atmosphere and increasing brightness (Dmitriev 1997)

If we remember that the Sun contains fully 99.86% of the mass in the Solar System, then we can easily see that it wields the strongest thermal, gravitational and electromagnetic influence.

In this book we will identify a clear physical mechanism that is causing our Sun to experience remarkable changes.

Fighting Terrorism Since 1492
By: Tim Swartz
A People’s History of the United States, 1492-Present

By: Howard Zinn

1. Columbus , The Indians, and Human Progress

Arawak men and women, naked, tawny, and full of wonder, emerged from their villages onto the island's beaches and swam out to get a closer look at the strange big boat. When Columbus and his sailors came ashore, carrying swords, speaking oddly, the Arawaks ran to greet them, brought them food, water, gifts.

He later wrote of this in his log: They brought us parrots, balls of cotton, spears and many other things, which they exchanged for the glass beads and hawks bells. They willingly traded everything they owned...

They were well-built, with good bodies and handsome features. They do not bear arms, and do not know them, for I showed them a sword, they took it by the edge and cut themselves out of ignorance.

They have no iron. Their spears are made of cane. They would make fine servants. With fifty men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we want.

The Lost Journals
of Nikola Tesla
BY: Tim Swartz

INTRODUCTION
By: Timothy Green Beckley
There is a teacher named John W. Wagner who thinks that the Smithsonian Institute is playing favorites.

After studying the remarkable life of Nikola Tesla, Wagner, along with his third grade class, started a campaign to educate the world about the obscure electrical genius from Yugoslavia.

Wagner and his class wrote many letters to important people asking for their support. A former student persuaded her father, an accomplished sculptor, to create a bust of Tesla for their class. A Third Grade requirement is to learn cursive handwriting, so their class work now had a purpose...writing letters to raise money for their Tesla bust.

Unfortunately, most people had never heard of Nikola Tesla. And those who had, seemed not to want to listen. In fact, when the bust of Tesla was finished, Wagner and his class of eager students offered it to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. Dr. Bernard S. Finn, (Curator of the Division of Electricity and Modern Physics) refused, claiming he had no use for the bust.

They could not understand why the Smithsonian would have no use for a $6,000 bust of such a great American and world-class scientist. After all, Tesla was no slouch. Much of our modern technology owes its beginnings to Tesla.

In 1882 he made the discovery that changed the world! Harnessing the awesome power of Alternating Current (AC).

War Is A Racket
BY: Major General
Smedley Darlington Butler

CHAPTER ONE
WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope.

It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about.

It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

In the World War [I] a mere handful garnered the profits of the conflict. At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War. That many admitted their huge blood gains in their income tax returns. How many other war millionaires falsified their tax returns no one knows.

INTRODUCTION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

In 1979, researchers at the Laetoli, Tanzania, site in East Africa discovered footprints in volcanic ash deposits over 3.6 million years old. Mary Leakey and others said the prints were indistinguishable from those of modern humans.

To these scientists, this meant only that the human ancestors of 3.6 million years ago had remarkably modern feet. But according to other scientists, such as physical anthropologist R. H. Tuttle of the University of Chicago,

fossil bones of the known australopithecines of 3.6 million years ago show they had feet that were distinctly apelike. Hence they were incompatible with the Laetoli prints.

In an article in the March 1990 issue of Natural History, Tuttle confessed that "we are left with somewhat of a mystery."

It seems permissible, therefore, to consider a possibility neither Tuttle nor Leakey mentioned--that creatures with anatomically modern human bodies to match their anatomically modern human feet existed some 3.6 million years ago in East Africa.

Perhaps, as suggested in the illustration on the opposite page,

they coexisted with more apelike creatures. As intriguing as this archeological possibility may be, current ideas about human evolution forbid it.

Knowledgeable persons will warn against positing the existence of anatomically modern humans millions of years ago on the slim basis of the Laetoli footprints.

But there is further evidence. Over the past few decades, scientists in Africa have uncovered fossil bones that look remarkably human. In 1965, Bryan Patterson and W. W. Howells found a surprisingly modern humerus (upper arm bone) at Kanapoi, Kenya.

Scientists judged the humerus to be over 4 million years old.

Modern Money Mechanics

BY: Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

Introduction

The purpose of this booklet is to describe the basic process of money creation in a "fractional reserve" banking system. The approach taken illustrates the changes in bank balance sheets that occur when deposits in banks change as a result of monetary action by the Federal Reserve System - the central bank of the United States.

The relationships shown are based on simplifying assumptions. For the sake of simplicity, the relationships are shown as if they were mechanical, but they are not, as is described later in the booklet. Thus, they should not be interpreted to imply a close and predictable relationship between a specific central bank transaction and the quantity of money.

The introductory pages contain a brief general description of the characteristics of money and how the U.S. money system works. The illustrations in the following two sections describe two processes: first, how bank deposits expand or contract in response to changes in the amount of reserves supplied by the central bank; and second, how those reserves are affected by both Federal Reserve actions and other factors.

A final section deals with some of the elements that modify, at least in the short run, the simple mechanical relationship between bank reserves and deposit money.

Money is such a routine part of everyday living that its existence and acceptance ordinarily are taken for granted. A user may sense that money must come into being either automatically as a result of economic activity or as an outgrowth of some government operation. But just how this happens all too often remains a mystery.

What is Money?
If money is viewed simply as a tool used to facilitate transactions, only those media that are readily accepted in exchange for goods, services, and other assets need to be considered. Many things - from stones to baseball cards - have served this monetary function through the ages. Today, in the United States, money used in transactions is mainly of three kinds - currency (paper money and coins in the pockets and purses of the public); demand deposits (non-interest bearing checking accounts in banks); and other checkable deposits, such as negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) accounts, at all depository institutions, including commercial and savings banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions. Travelers checks also are included in the definition of transactions money. Since $1 in currency and $1 in checkable deposits are freely convertible into each other and both can be used directly for expenditures, they are
money in equal degree.

However, only the cash and balances held by the nonbank public are counted in the money supply. Deposits of the U.S. Treasury, depository institutions, foreign banks and official institutions, as well as vault cash in depository institutions are excluded.

http://www.freedomfiles.org/

Whatever you believe will be truth, not because it is, because you believe or imagine it too be. There can be no truth in Illusion for truth has no Illusion. Infinite Love is the only truth, Everything else is Illusion.

When the World wakes up to and sees that all power resides in each individual as being absolutely sacred, we will all be free. Nobody has any more or less power than anyone else and that is what they don't want you to believe. Law is an illusion when no one can prove where they get their authority over others from. Laws are only created to support illusions, truth has no illusions. The entire world’s Political, Legal and Religious system is built upon a house of cards, which is the illusion of the few having authority over masses. Nobody can prove that they have authority over others and that is the ultimate thing that will set you free.

This book destroys that illusion and examines the mechanisms that hold that illusion in place. The abuse of power openly has a short life and those that perpetrate that abuse are always defeated. Freedom does not come with a price, it comes with the dispelling of illusion.

By: Mark Twain Edited By: Bernard De Voto
Letters from the Earth
Uncensored Writings

BY: Mark Twain

Edited By: Bernard De Voto

Preface:
In his will Mark Twain directed the Trustees of his Estate to confer with his daughter Clara and Albert B. Paine, his biographer, concerning the administration of his "literary productions." Paine served as literary executor from 1910, when Mark Twain died, until his own death in 1937.

During this period he published his three-volume biography, two volumes of letters, and a half-dozen other books drawn from the Mark Twain Papers. Shortly after Paine's death Harper & Brothers recommended to the Trustees that the late Bernard DeVoto, author of Mark Twain's America (1932) and at that time editor of The Saturday Review of Literature, should be asked to take over the task of preparing for publication further material selected from the thousands of pages of unpublished writings by Mark Twain.

DeVoto recommended that three volumes should be brought out:

(1) selections from the Autobiographical Dictation to supplement those edited by Paine;

(2) a volume of letters; and

(3)a collection of sketches and other short pieces. He began work at once on the third item, and in March, 1939, submitted to the Trustees the manuscript of Letters from the Earth, "ready for the printer." But when Clara Clemens read the manuscript she objected to the publication of certain parts of it on the ground that they presented a distorted view of her father's ideas and attitudes. The project was accordingly dropped, and the work has lain unpublished for more than twenty years in the successive depositories of the Mark Twain Papers, at Harvard, the Huntington Library, and the University of California, Berkeley.

During these two decades a long series of scholarly and critical studies -- including DeVoto's own authoritative Mark Twain at Work (1942) -- has demonstrated that the celebrated humorist was also a great artist. He now belongs beyond question among the major American writers. Since 1960, the fiftieth anniversary of Mark Twain's death, at least a dozen books about him have been published. In this abundance of knowledge and interpretation all his writings can be allowed to speak for themselves, and Clara Clemens has withdrawn her objections to the publication of Letters from the Earth. The book is now presented as DeVoto edited it in 1939, with only one or two minor changes in his editorial comments to take account of subsequent events.

The volume falls into two main parts: a first section, comprising "Letters from the Earth," "Papers of the Adam Family," and "Letter to the Earth," that exhibits the astonishingly inventive play of Mark Twain's imagination about Biblical themes, or lunges out in satire of the world he lived in; and a more miscellaneous second section, containing DeVoto's selections from the remaining unpublished manuscripts in the Mark Twain Papers.

These shorter pieces were written at intervals during four decades of Mark Twain's career and range in mood from a whimsical tale about cats he improvised for his children to the nightmare sea voyage of "The Great Dark." Several of them have been published separately since 1939, as is indicated in the Bibliographical Note, but they are included here in order to preserve the integrity of DeVoto's editorial intention.

Cosmos
By: Carl Sagan

The story of fifteen billion years of cosmic evolution transforming matter and life into consciousness, of how science and civilization grew up together, and of the forces and individuals who helped shape modern science. A story told with Carl Sagan’s remarkable ability to make scientific ideas both comprehensible and exciting, based on his acclaimed television series.

INTRODUCTION

The time will come when diligent research over long periods will bring to light things which now lie hidden. A single lifetime, even though entirely devoted to the sky, would not be enough for the investigation of so vast a subject . . . And so this knowledge will be unfolded only through long successive ages. There will come a time when our descendants will be amazed that we did not know things that are so plain to them . . .

Many discoveries are reserved for ages still to come, when memory of us will have been effaced. Our universe is a sorry little affair unless it has in it something for every age to investigate . . . Nature does not reveal her mysteries once and for all.

- Seneca, Natural Questions, Book 7, first century

In ancient times, in everyday speech and custom, the most mundane happenings were connected with the grandest cosmic events. A charming example is an incantation against the worm which the Assyrians of 1000 B.C. imagined to cause toothaches. It begins with the origin of the universe and ends with

a cure for toothache: After Anu had created the heaven, And the heaven had created the earth, And the earth had created the rivers, And the rivers had created the canals, And the canals had created the morass, And the morass had created the worm.

The worm went before Shamash, weeping, His tears flowing before Ea: ‘What wilt thou give me for my food, What wilt thou give me for my drink?’

‘I will give thee the dried fig And the apricot.’ ‘What are these to me? The dried fig And the apricot!

Lift me up, and among the teeth And the gums let me dwell! . .

Because thou hast said this, O worm, May Ea smite thee with the might of His hand! (Incantation against toothache.)

Its treatment: Second-grade beer . . . and oil thou shalt mix together; The incantation thou shalt recite three times thereon and shalt put the medicine upon the tooth.

Our ancestors were eager to understand the world but had not quite stumbled upon the method. They imagined a small, quaint, tidy universe in which the dominant forces were gods like Anu, Ea, and Shamash. In that universe humans played an important if not a central role.

We were intimately bound up with the rest of nature. The treatment of toothache with second-rate beer was tied to the deepest cosmological mysteries.

Chapter 1
Freedom

The definition of freedom is the infinite value of the human being. The definition of evil is the destruction of freedom.
Everything that is evil teaches people that they have limited value.

Simple
Truth is always simple. All people recognize truth because all people are intelligent beings. It is the nature of evil to create artificially complex ideas. It does this to hide or obfuscate the freedom it destroys. If you remove the complexities and fears from your life you will find a plain and beautiful truth. This truth is the nature of your worth.

Value of man
To understand freedom is to understand the value of a person. Everything that evil wants is to disguise and destroy your value. All authority is created by evil men to disguise your worth. To understand your own worth is to understand the nature of liberty.

Evil
The crucial key for understanding our world is to understand the nature of evil. Evil challenges the value of people by
denying them the opportunity to make their own choices; by denying them the chance to grow strong in learning and
understanding.

Mysterious Creatures
A Guide to Cryptozoology
By: George M. Eberhart

Introduction
If We Don’t Search,We Shall Never Discover Passion and cryptozoology go hand in hand. Enthusiasm and zeal fill my mind and body when I think about getting into the field in pursuit of real, flesh-and-blood animals waiting to be discovered.

Did excitement dwell within me, you might wonder, when a game warden and I trekked for hours in the mud on a hot midwestern afternoon in 1963, looking for signs of a black panther? Was it fun during the nights of cold in that tent in the Trinity-Shasta area of California, as I tracked an elusive BIGFOOT through those forests in 1974? Was it enjoyable to experience the biting rain on myself and my lads, Malcolm and Caleb, during the daylong soaking we received in an open boat on Loch Ness in 1999?

Needless to say, the answer for a cryptozoologist is “Yes!” With a fervor that flourished in another time, groups of women and men spend their todays searching for cryptids that may tomorrow be new species, pursuing creatures that
may not even exist, looking for animals that the thinnest of evidence says are real, and listening to rumors and tales of others just over the horizon.

The late Bernard Heuvelmans wrote in 1988: “Cryptozoological research should be actuated by two major forces: patience and passion.” While he may have never caught a single cryptid in his life, he knew all too well about the
search. Cryptozoologists are reliving a time two centuries ago when all of zoology was in an age of discovery. This field preserves the spirit of those days. But by the beginning of the twentieth century, zoology seemed to have slipped into a period in which new species were fully revealed only as a circumstance of taxonomy and cladistic debates were far in the future. Animal discoveries were incidental, certainly not the true mission.

That would all change, first with a quiet tradition of examining the curiosities of natural history beginning at the end of the nineteenth century, as seen in the writings of, for example, Philip Henry Gosse and Francis T. Buckland. With the advent in the twentieth century of a modern generation of zoology authors, such as Willy Ley and Henry Wendt, the time was ripe for a renewed interest in fauna whispered about but not acknowledged. It was then that two gentlemen came along whom I knew personally and who would inspire a fresh cohort of searchers.

Ivan T. Sanderson, a Scottish zoologist living in the United States, wrote an article for the January 3, 1948, Saturday Evening Post titled “There Could Be Dinosaurs.” In France, Belgian zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans read this essay on the possible survival of extinct animals in Africa, and it changed his life forever. Sanderson had trekked through tropical jungles (we call them rain forests now) in South America, Africa, and Asia. Heuvelmans had spent years reviewing the scientific literature and gleaning the zoological treasures hidden there. In the 1995 revision of his On the Track of Unknown Animals (pp. XXIII–XXIV), Heuvelmans expressed the stirrings he found inside himself that would call for a release in cryptozoology:

“There exists a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.”

- Senator Daniel K. Inouye

“In the councils of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex.

We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.”

- President Eisenhower,

January 1961

1.0 ABSTRACT – Purpose of The Disclosure Project Briefing Document

This briefing document was written to provide an overview of a public disclosure of the very complex UFO/ET (Unidentified Flying Object/ExtraTerrestrial) subject and provide background materials and references for individuals to start their own research.  This subject is inherently overwhelming as it touches on broad and profound implications for the future of mankind on our planet from both an intellectual and a technological perspective.

We have provided recommended actions for different stakeholders (including the press, the public, congress, the military, the scientific establishment, the president of the US, and the members of the UFO/ET control groups).  These recommendations should help smooth the disclosure process, making this issue the subject of open and informed discussion, both within our government and the public sectors.

The background materials include the following types of information:

1) Summaries of video taped testimony of military, government and private first-hand witnesses to UFO/ET events.

2) A series of position papers describing the background history, the need and implications of disclosure and the dangers of continued secrecy.

3) Fourteen major sightings cases with over two dozen military witnesses, many with multiple witnesses and supporting government documents.

4) A series of 27 quotes from scientists and government witnesses who knew the subject is real.  5) Reviews of two major recent reports by scientific review committees on the need for further research into the UFO phenomena.

6) A high level review of technological issues including zero-point energy, over-unity devices and anti-gravity research.  By reading this document, it is hoped that the astute and open-minded reader will understand that UFOs are real, and move on to thoughtfully address the implications of this reality for our governments and people of this planet.

2.0 TO THE READER - How to Use this document

Carl Sagan once stated that “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”  In the case of the UFO issue this could be clarified with two additional statements: “the development of extraordinary evidence requires extraordinary attention”, and “extraordinary attention is not merely justified, but virtually demanded by the growing legion of extraordinary observations.”

America's Oldest Secret
The Talisman of The United States
The Mysterious Street Lines of Washington D.C.
By: Charles L. Westbrook Jr., Ph.D.

Introduction:
Everyone loves a good mystery story. Facing the unknown has always attracted peoples interest. Perhaps, this is why I was compelled to the investigation of the mysteries exposed in this book. In this country of public trust and accountability, it is ironic to find a national secret kept hidden from the public for nearly two hundred years. Yet, this secret has always been in plainview. You only had to be a bird to see it.

My own search began in 1984 while planning a trip to Washington D.C., acity visited by millions of Americans and people from around the world. I only had three days to visit the Capital, so before making my trip I laid out on a map the routes I would follow in visiting the Capital City of the United States. It did not take me long to uncover some interesting symbols forming on that map. During my visit to the city, I became more aware of the possible importance ofthe symbols.

The mere size of Washington prevents anyone from observing these symbols from any one vantage point, other than from the top of theWashington Monument. But, the Washington Monument was never completely erected until February 21, 1885, ninety-five years after the city and many of the symbols were established.

There are many of books about the history of this great city, yet all ignore any reason for the strange street layout of WashingtonD.C. The more I looked at the various maps of Washington D.C. the more symbols I uncovered and the more questions I began to ask.
Why were these symbols laid out in our Nation's Capital?
Who authorized the design of the city around these symbols?
What do the symbols mean?
How might these symbols be used?

Little did I know my questions would eventually, lead me on a very unusual treasure hunt. The mysterious street lines of Washington D.C. are a true national treasure that raise more questions than answers. It is hoped that this book may answer some of those questions, as well as raise a few.

The First Civilization v2
By: Jas Garcha

Prologue
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that
makes the existing model obsolete.” R. Buckminster Fuller (1)

There is a certain model that pervades virtually every aspect of our lives. It affects the way humans behave and interact with each other, determines which humans wear diamonds on their fingers and which ones dig for diamonds in the dirt, and even plays a strong hand in determining who lives and who dies.

The model I speak of is human society. Our political, economic, and social systems combine to create a very peculiar model for our global society. In our current model, it's possible for one continent to face an obesity epidemic while another continent faces mass starvation.

Resources that could be used to improve human lives and alleviate suffering are instead turned into weapons with which to end human lives and encourage suffering. A highly adaptable and intelligent species, capable of mastering complex technologies and surviving
in virtually any environment, has become its own greatest threat to survival.

Our global society seems to be a fantastic model for inefficiency, needless destruction, and the complete absence of logic and reason. In keeping with the advice of Mr. Fuller, the purpose of this book is to display to the world a new potential model for human society. In this new model, we take full advantage of our scientific and technical prowess
to free humans from mundane labour tasks and create an abundance of goods and services. We rid ourselves
of obsolete constructs such as money, national borders, governments, and all other forms of oppressive control.

This is a system that recognizes the inescapable interconnection of every organism on the planet, and
sees that the suffering of one human invariably leads to the suffering of other humans, and the deterioration
of society as a whole. And finally, this is a system in which the completion of tasks is no longer based upon
the arbitrary exchange of shiny trinkets, but by the availability of the Earth's resources. This model is called
a Resource Based Economy (RBE). (2)

The Paradox of Self-Denial
By: Alan Watts

“Become what you are”

While living, be a dead man, thoroughly dead; Then, whatever you do, just as you will, will be right.

A Buddhist poem, written in China several centuries ago, tries to find words for an intuition which is common to almost every culture in the world. When translated into the familiar language of the Christian tradition, it is so well-known as to be almost a platitude:

"He that loseth his soul shall find it." But what always preserves this thought from banality— from the mere tiresomeness of those precepts which everyone knows he ought to observe but doesn't—is that this is a saying which no one can observe. For so long as there is something which I can do about it, I am not yet dead; I have not yet completely lost my life.

Yet this is not the simple absurdity of a command impossible to obey. It is a real communication, a description of something which happens to people—like the rain, or the touch of the wind.

It is simply the expression of the universal discovery that a man does not really begin to be alive until he has lost himself, until he has released the anxious grasp which he normally holds upon his life, his property, his reputation and position.

It is the irreducible truth in the monkish idea of "holy poverty," of the way of life to which there are no strings attached, in which—because all is lost—there is nothing to lose, in which there is the exhilaration of a kind of freedom which is poetically likened to the birds and the wind, or to clouds drifting in the boundless sky. It is the life which Saint Paul described as "poor but making many rich, as having nothing but possessing all things."

Introduction
It took courage to write this book, and it will take courage to read it. Because its theories and proofs do not fit into the mosaic of traditional archaeology, constructed so laboriously and firmly cemented down, scholars will call it nonsense and put it on the Index of those books which are better left unmentioned.

Laymen will withdraw into the snail shell of their familiar world when faced with the probability that finding out about our past will be even more mysterious and adventurous than finding out about the future.

Nevertheless, one thing is certain. There is something inconsistent about our past, that past which lies thousands and millions of years behind us. The past teemed with unknown gods who visited the primeval earth in manned spaceships. Incredible technical achievements existed in the past. There is a mass of knowhow which we have only partially rediscovered today.

Extraordinary Encounters
An Encyclopedia of Extraterrestrials and Otherworldly Beings
By: Jerome Clark

Introduction

Extraordinary encounters have been reported for as long as human beings have been around, and they are richly documented in the world’s folklore and mythology. A full accounting of traditions of otherworldly belief would easily fill many fat volumes.

This book, however, is not about traditions but about experiences, or perceived experiences, of otherworldly forces as claimed by a wide range of individuals over the past two centuries (with the rare look farther back if the occasion calls
for it). In other words, it is about things that people, many of them living, say happened to them, things far outside mainstream notions about what it is possible to experience, but, at the same time, things that seem deeply real to
at least the sincere experiments (that is, those persons who have had the experiences).

Not everyone, of course, is telling the truth, and when there is reason to be suspicious of the testimony, that consideration is noted. Mostly, though, I let the stories tell themselves; I have left my own observations and conclusions in this introduction. Though much of the material is outlandish by any definition, I have made a conscious effort to relate it straightforwardly, and I hope readers
will take it in the same spirit.

No single person on this earth is guiltless of believing something that isn’t so. As I wrote this book, I tried to keep in mind these wise words from scientist and author Henry H. Bauer: “Foolish ideas do not make a fool—if they did, we could all rightly be called fools.” Most of us believe in at least the hypothetical existence of other-than-human beings, whether we think of them as manifestations of the divine or as advanced extraterrestrials. At the same time most of us do not think of these beings as intelligences we are likely to encounter in quotidian reality.

God and the angels are in heaven, spiritual entities who exist as objects of faith. Extraterrestrials, though not gods, “exist” in much the same way, as beings who science fiction writers and scientists such as the late Carl Sagan theorize may be out there somewhere in deep space, though so far away that no direct evidence supports the proposition.

When devout individuals report feeling the “presence of God,” they usually describe a subjective state that the nonbeliever does not feel compelled to take literally. Of course we know there was a time when our ancestors were certain that otherworldly beings of all sorts walked the world. Gods communicated openly with humans. One could summon up their presence or encounter them spontaneously.

Water Spark Plug.png
Water Spark Plug

1. DANGEROUS – the circuit uses very high voltage so you need to be extra careful on this one.

2. FUN! But safety wins over fun. Trips to the hospital are no fun.

3. Wear some dark glasses before watching the sparks, don’t hurt your eyes Please take care of your eyes!!! Too much exposure to this spark will lead to eye damage. So wear UV protective shaded glasses when looking at the spark.

Unless you are experienced and are aware of the components and their potential effects, please do not attempt to do this. Batteries are capable of producing hydrogen; if too much voltage is applied to them they are able to spark internally. If this happens you will have exploding electrolyte (sulfuric acid) everywhere.

Please be safe and treat this experiment with respect. Do not attempt it unless you are a qualified electrician with adequate safety precautions in place.

There is many phenomena present in this research device which given the current laws do not make sense. Water can directly explode on demand with little energy input.

This video corroborates other observations claiming that the plasma spark intensifies with increased pressure of compression. This contradicts the expected effect this isn’t just any spark!

The water spark plug is currently at this time not running a house on free energy in a third world country, however there is awareness and lessons contained in this device waiting to be harnessed.

What direction is the application of this device heading? Currently it’s heading towards a potential 100% water engine, plasma circuit, Firestorm spark plug duplication and much more. Most will not be aware of the plasma research which has been already been accomplished- However today remains neglected unknown and suppressed. Or the 100% water powered injection cars which have already been accomplished but remain suppressed.

INTRODUCTORY SPACE SCIENCE - VOLUME II CHAPTER XXXIII  UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS  DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS - USAF  UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY

It has been known for some time that during the late 1960's and early 1970's the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs had some material on UFOs in  its curriculum.  The chapter of the textbook "Introductory Space Science" for  the class Physics 370 has been posted on CUFONSM for quite a while.

This file contains expanded coverage, including a newspaper article from the "Lemoore Advance, A letter of reply from the A.F. Academy transmitting copies of the two versions of Chapter 33, Chapter 33 as it was in use from 1968 - 1970, and the revised Chapter 33 placed in use for the Fall Quarter, 1970.  (Posted 14 MAY 1992) -- Jim Klotz, CUFONSM SYSOP

AIR ACADEMY TEXT BOOK URGES MORE STUDY OF UFO SIGHTINGS by TED HUBBARD

Students at the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs are being taught to stop scoffing at the mention of UFO's or "flying saucers" and to keep an open mind on the subject. This was made clear last Thursday in an interview given by Major Stewart Kilpatrick, deputy Director of Public Information of the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, to the Lemoore Advance in a lengthy and exclusive phone interview.

The "National Enquirer," a country-wide journal, which claims the "largest circulation of any weekly paper in America," headlined this following statement, "Air Force Academy Textbook Warns Cadets That UFO's May Be Spacecraft Operated by Aliens From Other Worlds," in its Oct. 11 issue.

Because so many of our readers are interested personally in aircraft, The Advance sought to verify what appeared to be exaggerated claims and somewhat on the unbelievable side. This despite the reported sightings of some strange craft over Lemoore by several witnesses a few weeks ago.

Introduction
Some of the most closely guarded secrets of this century -- and perhaps since time began will be discovered within the pages of this book. At the heart of the long kept secrets is the phenomena, euphemistically known as unidentified flying objects, which certain nations of this world have developed with the aid of outer terrestrials from other planets.

The manuscript is entirely original, from primary sources, most of which must remain anonymous. Over 100 interviews were conducted.

Research for the project took three years of two mens' time, plus thousands of hours contributed freely by others, some of whom placed their careers in jeopardy to do so. Material was gathered mostly in the U.S.A., but also visited was the USSR, Mexico, Germany, Canada, France, England, Spain, Brazil and the Vatican.

Washington was where the real struggle was fought to pry the truth from bureaucratic vaults. During the task of researching projects related to the UFOs,

a few allies who wanted the entire story explained were gradually located in all walks of the Capitol's life.  Some of those who came to our aid were Senators, Congressmen, top military men in all the services, and high ranking civil servants, as well as agents and retired agents of the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Through the efforts of all those sympathetic people the book was completed. Its contents simply attempt to open up, without apology, the post-war history of the so called UFO for examination.

On the Taboo Against Knowing
Who You Are
By: Alan Watts

PREFACE
THIS BOOK explores an unrecognized but mighty taboo—our tacit conspiracy to ignore who, or what, we really are. Briefly, the thesis is that the prevalent sensation of oneself as a separate ego enclosed in a bag of skin is a hallucination which accords neither with Western science nor with the experimental philosophy-religions of the East—in
particular the central and germinal Vedanta philosophy of Hinduism.

This hallucination underlies the misuse of technology for the violent subjugation of man's natural environment and, consequently, its eventual destruction. We are therefore in urgent need of a sense of our own existence which is in accord with the physical facts and which overcomes our feeling of alienation from the universe.

For this purpose I have drawn on the insights of Vedanta, stating them, however, in a completely modern and Western style—so that this volume makes no attempt to be a textbook on or introduction to Vedanta in the ordinary sense.

It is rather a cross-fertilization of Western science with an Eastern intuition. Particular thanks are due to my wife, Mary Jane, for her careful editorial work and her comments on the manuscript. Gratitude is also due to the Bollingen Foundation for its support of a project which included the writing of this book.

The Works Of Archimedes
By: T. L. Heath Sc.D.,

INTRODUCTION.

CHAPTER I.

ARCHIMEDES.

A LIFE of Archimedes was written by one Heracleides*, but this biography has not survived, and such particulars as are known have to be collected from many various sources f. According to Tzetzes| he died at the age of 75, and, as he perished in the sack of Syracuse (b.c. 212), it follows that he was probably born about 287 B.C.

He was the son of Pheidias the asti^onomer§, and was on intimate terms with, if not related to, king Hieron and his * Eutocius mentions this work iu his commentary on Archimedes' Measurement of the circle, ws (p-qaLv 'UpaKXeidrjs iv ry ' Apxi/J-vSovs jBlip.

He alludes to jt again in his commentary on Apollonius' Conies (ed. Heiberg, Vol. ii. p. 168), where, however, the name is wrongly given as 'Hpd/cXetos. This Heracleides is perhaps the same as the Heracleides mentioned by Archimedes himself in the preface to his book On Spirals. t An exhaustive collection of the materials is given in Heiberg's Quaestiones Archimedeae (1879).

The preface to Torelli's edition also gives the main points, and the same work (pp. 363—370) quotes at length most of the original references to the mechanical inventions of Archimedes. Further, the article Archimedes (by Hultsch) in Pauly-Wissowa's Real-Encyclopddie der classischen Altertumsiuissenschaften gives an entirely admirable summary of all the available information.

See also Susemihl's Geschichte der griechischen Litteratur in der Alexandrinerzeit, i. pp. 723—733. + Tzetzes, Chiliad., u. 35, 105. § Pheidias is mentioned in the Sand-reckoner of Archimedes,(the last words being the correction

of Blass for rod ' AKoAwarpos, the reading of the text). Cf. Schol. Clark, in Gregor. Nazianz. Or. 34, p. 355 a Morel,

Our Hollow Earth

This Document is 665 pages of

Great Information about Our

Hollow Earth!

This proposed expedition would like to conduct some scientific observations in the Arctic that is hoped will resolve once and for all whether the hollow earth theory has any validity. The indigenous Eskimos believe there is a hole in the Arctic Ocean. Observations of several Arctic explorers of mirages of land in the Arctic indicate that the most plausible location for a north polar opening that leads into the interior of the earth is located at 84.4 N Latitude, 141 E Longitude.

To check out this theory, a group of hollow earth believers and scientists would like to charter a Russian Nuclear Icebreaker into the Arctic sea. Steve Currey with Steve Currey's Expedition Company of Provo, Utah, has agreed to charter a Russian Nuclear Icebreaker from Adventure Associates and is standing by to take the first 100 people to sign up for this historic voyage.

Steve Currey is one of the leading river explorers in the world, having made first descents on the Upper Yangtze River in China, Brahmaputra and Upper Ganges rivers in India, Bio Bio, Futaleufu and Figueroa rivers in Chile, Katun River in Siberia and Tsangpo River in Tibet through the world's deepest canyon featured in National Geographic Adventure magazine (April 2000).

For the past 30 years, the Currey's have taken over 1/4 million satisfied guests on their expeditions including US Senators, Congressmen, Heads of State, business leaders, celebrities and explorers.

On Steve's recent expedition through the Tsangpo gorge in Tibet, a hidden falls was discovered behind which the Tibetans say a cavern leads into the Hollow Earth, which they call Agharta, wherefrom years ago, their legends relate, the King of the (Inner) World emerged with a message of peace for our outer world, saying his Kingdom some day will emerge to help establish world peace. All the Tibetan faithful want to go there to die, Steve learned.

Water 4 Gas

By: Ozzie Freedom

THIS BOOK IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY

Using some of the devices or methods described in this book on a
running vehicle may be illegal in your country. Check with your local
Emissions Control Department, or whatever they call themselves.

My lawyer says this is nonsense, however I've been told unofficially (i.e., by rumors) that some methods are illegal to use on public roads in the USA. Since I could not reconcile who's right (maybe both?), I'm giving
it to you for off-road testing, as well as for experimentation outside the
jurisdiction of the USA.

IF it is illegal in your country, then don't ask a licensed mechanic
because he will justly refuse installation in your vehicle since he may end up losing his license. Doing it yourself may be borderline legal
if you install it IN YOUR OWN PERSONAL VEHICLE.

THIS IS NOT A LEGAL ADVICE because I am not a lawyer and I definitely do not know the laws of your country!

INFLICT CHANGE
However, somebody must do something to make this technology
approved, embraced and furthermore ENDORSED by all governments
of the world; so if you know a government official, senator or
parliament member who may be willing to support green technologies,
present the issue to them and ask for their help. For example, today you may fail a smog check only because the harmful emissions coming off your tail pipe are TOO LOW! Their
assumption is that there must be a hole in the exhaust pipe... This
attitude is a punishment to all operators of green vehicles – and must be labeled ILLEGAL by your government. Some people will tell you that petitions don't work, that politicians are all crooked and care for nothing, and other there-is-no-hope-anywhere songs. Those are lies.

The truth is that, although change is hard, it can happen and will happen. And in order for it to happen, we must all do our part.

Whatever you can do – just do it!
